YAYYY! FINALLY GOT MINE TODAY
HERE IS THE LINK
Hello, hello!
OK, so…I have realised that I have barely looked at Tumblr for over a week (save for going to specific peoples pages) and I have nothing of interest to post.
With this in mind, I will probably vacate this Tumblr, at least for awhile. I won’t delete it, because I want to keep the posts and may need it to reply to people at some point. But you’ll probably find that it won’t be updated for a long while so I just wanted to let you folks know in case you wondered what was happening and if you wanted to free up your “following” list.
I’ll still be on the Naked Persimmon Tumblr and I have set up a new account over here which will focus solely (well, mostly solely, I’m sure I will wander a little…) on my rediscovered book obsession. If you are biblio-inclined, check it out! :)
Anyway, thank you for following me in the first place, you’ve been lovely; it’s just become a little much. Ciao! :D
A Letter From One We Lost Too Soon
A young aspiring comedian wrote to the comic genius Phil Hartman for some advice and got this incredibly honest and genuine letter in return.
I didn’t need any more evidence that he was an awesome guy but this is just so special. Miss you, Phil.
God, I love this man. I wish Geoff was live (so to speak!) more often if this kind of hilarity ensues.

EXCLUSIVE: Micky Dolenz talks about the Monkees tour and those health rumors
This past week saw headlines explode with news about the Monkees and the abrupt end of their 45th anniversary tour. On the phone from Los Angeles, Micky Dolenz acknowledged it’s been a crazy week.
“There’s no business like show business, like no business I know” he sings as the interview begins.
He says the posting on his Facebook page gives the reasons for the tour ending. “It’s strictly about business and internal business affairs, and that’s all I can say at the moment.”
Day 5 - Your Favourite Hero
Jack Skellington - (1993, The Nightmare Before Christmas)
I’m not certain that TNBC is classed as a Disney film but screw it, I’m classing it as such here! It’s the childlike curiosity that won me over with Jack; how his boredom of the ordinary (in his mind) lead him to something completely unknown and how he got completely swept up in it without really contemplating the consequences. He wants to help and do good but is totally out of his depth and I feel so sorry for him near the end when he realises that things are going wrong and he can do nothing to stop it.
Day 5 - Your Favourite Love Story in a Film
Buttercup and Westley - (1987, The Princess Bride)
I am not one for rom-coms or anything like that so that immediately lessens the pool of possibilities for this question, but regardless, it would always be The Princess Bride. Granted, there are so many other elements to this film than the romance (revenge, adventure, betrayal, torture etc.) but it remains the core of the story. It sets it up within the first couple of minutes and you just accept right away that this is a true love, while the remainder of the film is their journey to return to each other and stay together while running across the most eccentric characters possible. Despite it being incredibly sappy, it never comes across that way because of the way they play it and also by having te Grandson constantly breaking up the narrative with his displeasure at all the kissing.
The country is going to shit…
…And you get people making photoshopped pictures to stir it up? I don’t even have the words. This is a terrible thing that is happening, both to those in this country and those that are trying to keep up with it with what pathetic amount of information they are being given, why make things harder by putting out false information?
Ugh.
Personally, I find it shocking how quickly this is spreading and I just hope it can be contained soon and people will realise that there is absolutely no point to this. You are destroying your own communities! Your own neighbours lives! And for what? I’d like to think that people in this city have more sense than to follow that gang mentality but seeing the carnage that can occur after football matches…I’m not too encouraged. I just hope civilians stay safe, your lives are more important than your belongings; get the hell out if it’s looking dangerous.

Day 4 - Your Favourite Prince
Beast (Uh…what actually is his name?!) - (1991, Beauty and the Beast)
It was a toss-up between Beast and Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid, but Beast is just the more interesting character. I love the concept of this ultimate punishment for being spoilt and having to deal with the beastly appearance that is the physical manifestation of his personality. And then just seeing how he tries to regain his human qualities throughout the rest of the film. He has to be one of the most fleshed out of the Disney princes, in my opinion.
